As we begin to close out the month of February and look ahead to March, you can't not look at the calendar and note that Spring Break vacation is right around the corner! If you're also currently residing in this Midwest tundra, then I know you're craving sunshine and steamy temps just like we are! So to help you prepare and pack with ease, we've rounded up five wardrobe essentials for your spring break vacation!
Skip the heavy, bulky earrings and necklaces and keep your look light with simple gold accessories. Let's face it - it's hot. And you're sweating your you-know-what off, and the last thing we need is to add more weight to your ensemble. Think easy breezy, salty hair vibes. Effortless and sexy is what we're aiming for! Plus it keeps your packing light because simple pieces go with every dress, t-shirt, or swimsuit.
#2 Jean Shorts
Beach adventures and cutoff shorts go hand-in-hand! There's nothing more quintessential than jean shorts when it comes to summer days and tropical vacations. From the pool or beach worn over your favorite little bitty bikini, or to dinner in wedges and a floral blouse that brings out your sun-kissed skin, cutoff shorts are the ultimate spring break essential. The MVP, if you will!
#3 Maxi Dress
Fancy dinner dress or swimsuit coverup - yes and yes! A flowy, lightweight maxi dress lends itself to be worn and styled for many different occasions! The beauty of going somewhere warm for vacation is that you don't need to pack much. Simple and understated always wins when it comes to the beach. Opt for sandals or wedges, put your hair into a slicked back high bun, and top this chic and sultry outfit off with your favorite pair of statement earrings - preferably a bold and bright colorful pair!
Again, when it comes to warm weather travel, you don't need much and the key to keeping the suitcase light is to pack versatile pieces. A larger size satchel or tote serves you well for carrying the SPF, kindle, sunglasses, and cell phone; holding all your essentials for a day at the beach or lounging poolside. And if you and the crew are game for some daytime exploration and decide to set out and see the local sites; reach for your trusty tote and toss in your wallet, water bottle, and snacks!
Squinty eyes are not allowed! Set your sites on those ocean views while protecting your peepers from the strong UV rays with a classic pair of sunnies. Sunglasses, especially for women, are a critical component to not just our vacay lineup, but to our everyday outfits. Protecting the thin and sensitive skin on our face and near and around the eyes isn't just part of fashion, but it's about being the healthiest versions of ourselves! We suggest keeping a back up pair in your purse or car.
