Three things to add to your wardrobe this Spring

Who's ready for a closet refresh? We are! Just in time for the upcoming official start to Spring, we reviewed all our new arrivals and have landed on three things to add to your wardrobe this Spring! March is in full swing, which means the season of fresh flowers, rain showers, and tornados (because hey, it is Nebraska after all) is about to be upon us, so we're diving head first into all things warmer weather!

1. White Platform Tennis Shoes

At the risk of sounding like a broken record... actually we'll take the risk in declaring one again that a pair of white tennis shoes are the absolute bees knees of any wardrobe. We're known to rock white sneakers no matter the time of year, but we have to say that there's nothing more quintessential and nostalgic than crisp white kicks in Spring. Especially when we're talking about those perfectly warm midwest days that involve the windows down, sunroof cracked, and your favorite tunes hitting those speakers hard! From sundresses, to a biker short + sweatshirt combo, or the timeless look of denim and a white tee; a classic white pair of tennis shoes like the Suzanne Platform Sneakers are going to be hands down, your most versatile closet staple.

2. Light Weight Sweaters

three things to add to your wardrobe this spring

This can be a tricky time of year for deciding to go sleeveless because that Spring morning air can be a bit brisk but by lunchtime, it's the perfect level of warmth out. Which is why we can't get enough of light weight sweaters! From the loose knits and breathable fabric, these give you just the right amount of a cozy layer without roasting the minute you step outside. Take a departure from your standard Fall sweaters in your standard earth tones and warm neutrals and dip your toe in pops of colors and prints!

The ivory and coral combo on the Bold Striped Light Knitted Sweater is so fun for spring and would be a great option for upcoming Memorial Day weekend festivities and celebrations. The unique and interesting geometric pattern of subtle pastel hues, combined with the open waffle stitch, is a fun and unexpected twist on this springtime sweater. This number would look fabulous with a pair of white jeans and espadrille wedge sandals - perfect for Sunday morning mass or brunch!

If it's a casual Saturday trip to the Farmer's Market or a stroll in the park, consider pairing your new sweater with jean shorts and white sneakers for an effortlessly cool and comfortable outfit. If you work in a business casual environment, opt for a pair of dark wash denim, a trendy pair of mules or pointed-toe flats, and front tuck the sweater to give you shape and elevate your look for the office!

3. Belt Bag

three things to add to your wardrobe this spring

Hands free is the way to be! Ditch those big, bulky tote bags - yes I know they hold all your essentials - but streamline your must-haves and give that shoulder a break by tying out the belt bag trend! I have to admit at first, I too, was hesitant to slim down to such a small amount of space, but I have to tell you that there is something very freeing about carrying less and having the ability to do more! I like the versatility of the belt bag, as you can wear it the old school fanny pack way (but much cooler now!) or you can elongate the strap and wear it as a cross body, but around the chest rather than the hips. From trips to the zoo, family bike rides, long walks on your favorite trail or leisurely strolls in a park, to running errands and not wanting to fuss with any straps; we highly suggest trying out the belt bag for yourself!
