As I sit here bundled up in my sweats and cozy blanket writing this blog post, dreaming up warm weather outfits, I want to note that it's currently 38 degrees outside. And that is a warm winter day here in the heartland. I don't mind winter at the start of the season because I'm excited about sweater weather #basic, and there is something magical about the first snowfall of the year. But as the holidays come to a close and the merry and bright, hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year's become a distant memory, the gloom of real winter arrives as the month of January rolls in. So to combat the cold weather blues, I like to set my sites on sandy beaches and little umbrella drinks and plan some fun vacation outfits! Whether you're headed South for Spring Break or leaving town the moment school's out for Summer, I've rounded up some fabulous pieces for your warm weather vacation inspiration!
Floral Ruffle Shoulder Dress // I usually try to not play favorites, but goodness this floral frock is speaking to me! The colors are so vivid and bright and the bold flower print exudes tropical equator vibes. The shorter length is fun and flirty and can be dressed up or down either with a fun pair of sandals or a classic espadrille wedge. I adore the ruffle mock neck and sleeve - such an expected detail to the dress. I can see myself in this dress on a beach in Hawaii or Mexico - okay I'll settle for Florida - living my best vacation life!
Tie Front Shoulder Pad Dress // Hunny watch out, you'll be packing a punch and making heads turn in this gorgeous neon pink dress! I. am. obsessed. If you are a bride-to-be and are looking for something extra special to wear to a fancy dinner on your honeymoon, look no further. This bold pink number is calling your name. From the structured shoulder pads that instantly make your arms look lean and long, and to the tulip skirt hem which elongates your legs; this dress is beyond flattering and is sure to accentuate all your natural beauty!
Cobalt Cowl Tank + Black Wide Leg Pants // This stunning cobalt blue cowl tank is so chic and is the perfect mix of effortless and sexy! The satin sheen fabric makes this color pop and the spaghetti straps are giving me all the early 2000's feels. I am here for this! For a daytime look exploring the city and becoming one with the locals, pair it with cutoff shorts and gladiator sandals for a cute and comfy casual look. And for an elevated evening outfit perfect for a candlelit dinner overlooking the ocean, I would highly suggest swapping out the shorts for a pair of these wide leg pants. The smock waistband with slight ruffle detailing adds some fun pizazz and the slits bring the drama and flare to these classic beach vacation pants. Keep the accessories to a minimum with either a simple dainty necklace or your favorite big hoops and opt for a salty hair, messy bun to let your ensemble do all the talking!
Tell me if you have a vacation planned and if this warm weather destination inspiration post was helpful! I always want to be a resource and help make shopping fun and easy for you girls! xoxo
